Our Story
Carter's Confident Care grew out of years of firsthand experience watching families struggle to find consistent, compassionate care for the people they love most. As a registered nurse, Blenda spent time both inside homes and inside the agencies meant to support them. She saw caregivers arriving without proper training, families left confused about what to expect, and seniors not receiving the patience or attention they deserved. Even when concerns were brought forward, very little changed.
Instead of accepting "good enough," Blenda made the decision to create something better: an agency built on accountability, respect, and genuine connection. She wanted families to feel confident inviting someone into their home. She wanted seniors to feel seen, heard, and supported. And she wanted caregivers to feel valued, trained, and proud of the work they do.
Carter's Confident Care was founded on that vision. What started as one nurse's determination to raise the standard of care has grown into a trusted local agency serving families across Lake City and Columbia County. Every client interaction, every caregiver match, and every plan of care is guided by the same belief that inspired our start: home care should feel personal, dependable, and rooted in real compassion.
